3i sells Weener Plastics group to Silgan Holdings

3i sells the Weener Plastics group, producer of high-performance plastic packaging products, to US manufacturing company Silgan Holdings, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions for essential consumer goods. The transaction values the Weener Plastics group at EUR 838 million.

Since its establishment in 1953, Weener Plastics has been active in Ede in the development, production, sales and distribution of plastic packaging materials. The group now comprises 23 production facilities spread across 15 countries worldwide with more than 4,000 employees.

The transaction is expected to complete in Q4 2024 and is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
