XVIVO Perfusion acquires Organ Assist

Swedish company XVIVO Perfusion AB and Organ Assist BV, from Groningen in the Netherlands, have announced that they will combine their businesses. XVIVO Perfusion will acquire 100% of the shares in Organ Assist for the purchase price of EUR 24 million.

XVIVO Perfusion and Organ Assist operate in the medical technology business, developing optimised solutions for perfusion of organs, tissue and cells to use in transplants. The companies share a dedication to reducing donor organ shortages by making their innovative technologies available to transplant centres worldwide. With their combined businesses, XVIVO Perfusion and Organ Assist are aiming to position themselves as a global market leader.

Houthoff advised XVIVO Perfusion on the acquisition of the shares. The team was led by Maurits de Haan and included Josephine de Bok, Grafton Cederburg, Anneke de Rond, Jasmijn Harms, Fleur Tuinzing, Davide Ballestrero, Lorenzo Fiorilli and Greetje van Heezik.
