Erik specialises in national and cross-border M&A transactions. He advises corporates as well as private equity funds. Erik has experience assisting in complex carve-out transactions. He also advises on governance and ESG-related issues and has published various articles on these topics. Since September 2022, Erik has been working from Houthoff's London office.

Advised LLP SunMed on its acquisition of Vyaire Medical’s (“Vyaire”) business unit that manufactures and markets respiratory and anesthesia consumables. Houthoff acted alongside Goodwin Procter on this deal advised on the Dutch elements of the transaction.

Advised Vermeer Corporation on its acquisition of the electric-powered horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fluid systems technology from Normag.

Advised Wingtech Technology on its acquisition of a 23.77% stake in Nexperia for USD 893 million. Houthoff previously advised Wingtech Technology on an initial acquisition of a 75.86% controlling stake in Nexperia for USD 3.6 billion, which was completed at the end of 2019.

ECI has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Netherlands-based Trivest Beheer B.V., a provider of smart vertical software solutions to the SME manufacturing sector. With this acquisition, Trivest’s nearly 3,000 customers and more than 300 employees will join ECI’s manufacturing division.

Advised Vitol on its agreement with IFM Investors to acquire Buckeye Partners' 50% equity interest in VTTI, the leading global independent provider of energy storage. After completion, VTTI will be owned 50% by IFM Investors and 50% by Vitol.
